Happy Birthday Boy Scouts of America

Good evening to everyone,

As you may or may not know, February 8th 1910 was the exact day that the BSA was founded in Chicago.

So, Happy Birthday BSA !

The last 12 months plus has been very exciting and rewarding for me at Lion Brothers, and as a Boy Scout leader.

I have had the honor of creating many logos and enblems for not only the BSA Centennial, but also the 2010 Jamboree. Certainly an exciting time to be an artist ( even a colorblind one ). Every day I am challenged, and also need a lot of help from family to do my job. I have often wondered why God would give someone a blessing of artistic talent, and then add the challenge I have faced every day to put that gift to work. Someday I may find out the answer !

This year the Baltimore Area Council is having many special events to celebrate the 100th.

Today was one of them.

This morning there were two scheduled activities. One was a gathering in fells Point to sing the Manac Monday song on Channel 13 ( that's right Steve ). The second was to gather at harbor Hospital for a slide show and then watch the sun rise on the second 100 years.

Well, I got up early (4:30 am ) and drove to the first. No one was in Fells Point ! Drove to the second, and no one was there either. Imagine my surprise when I got to work and read my e-mails from Sunday.

Both events were postponed !!!

Better luck next time ! At least I got to see Baltimore City under 3 feet of snow !

I have attached several photos. Two are me at work this morning. I told my scouts I was going to wear my uniform to work, and here is the proof !

The last photo is three scoutmasters. Ken Mason was awarded the Silver Beaver Award by the BAC on Thursday the 28th. Certainly an award that is well deserved. Ed and Carol Cool came down from the event. ( Ed was SM before Ken ). Robin and I hadn't seen them in 23 years.

Sorry for going on so long.

Have a great night and enjoy the photos.

Love to all,

Bob

Congrats to the BSA.

Good thing that you mentioned that was Ed Cool. When I first saw the photo I wondered who that was. Upon enlarging the photo I was able to read the name dag.

I think God gave you the artistic talent and the added challenge because he knew you would be able to handle both beautifully and use them for his glory. I echo Randi - Scouts and Lions and everyone else you have created things for are blessed. I have many of those blessings in my house and I treasure them because they were made with loving hands!
