Jury duty

I received another summons from the US District Court in Toledo about a month ago. This time it is for the Grand Jury - meaning the first Wed. of every month for the next 18 months! Because I was excused a year ago, my request to be excused again was denied. So....Tues. afternoon I have to call to see if my presence is requested. If so, I have to be in Toledo by 8:00 a.m.

My Christmas Present

Today I was in Annapolis talking to legislators about psychology-related bills and figured it was a great time to use my new bag from Uncle Mike! It was the perfect size and I received several compliments!

Thanks again, Uncle Mike!

Deja vu all over again

Anyone know if there is a record for the number of principals one building has had in one school year? Starting tomorrow we will be on #3. Geez......

I wanted to post a picture of my arrangement for Aunt Donna but you can't put pictures in comments so here it is

An Edible Arrangement is similar to a flower arrangement only its fruit! Mine has grapes, strawberries, some dipped in chocolate, cantaloupe, honeydew, and pineapple. Its soo delicious! Also, its a lot better for you than a box of chocolate. I'd been hinting to Dave that I wanted one for about a year now and he told me that he didn't get me anything for v-day. But suprise! There it was.

Picture:

I got Dave this:

Its a panda build-a-bear. Panda because he wears black and white for Geek Squad with a ravens shirt because duh, he loves the Ravens. And white shoes because Dave always wears white Nikes.

Wind

Last night the rain and wind kicked up and did some damage to the house. We lost the storm door and a few small branches. Luckily the glass in the door didn't break, so the clean up was rather easy. The first big gust only took the metal frame and the top of the door, but it cracked the kick plate and left what remained ajar enough that I was worried another gust would rip that off too and do further damage. So in the middle of the storm I was dismantling the rest of the door with our power drill and a handheld screwdriver. An adventure to say the least.

Mom/Grandmom would be 80 today!

So how would Mom feel about turning 80? I wonder if she would still tell people she was 29?
I remember lots of things about Mom, like her saying "I may be little, but I'm tough." And trying to get us to tell what her Christmas presents were. And how she believed Steve when he came home one day and said, "Mom, it's terrible, it rained so hard last night the Harbor Tunnel is under water!"
I also know if she was alive, she would love coming to visit our homes and seeing our children. She loved being a grandmother. She took her first plane ride, by herself, when Erin was born. And when she came home, she was so proud of the pictures she took - "Now this was Tuesday, and this was Wednesday"
Any other memories you would like to share?
