Yard Sale

We've been hoarding stuff all summer for the "big day." It's been prettttty quiet so far (can't you tell, that's why I'm posting photos of our junk on this blog.)

Hope ya'll like our new gate-keeper. We'll give you first pick on any leftovers but you've got to haul it away yourself.

Oh no....not the toilet paper holder!!!! Now that it's 4:20, how's business been?

Business was ok. It was slow in the morning and busy during lunchtime. It got slow again during the later afternoon. Our neighbor Chrissy told me that Saturdays are always better than Fridays in our neighborhood. I guess we'll see how tomorrow goes.

How much for the sink? :P

Nuthin'...take it!

That depends upon where the sink fits in the classification of Bric-a-Brac.

Bric is $ 0.50, but Brac will cost you $1.00.

I took a toilet from G & P down to Nancy's garage sale!

Post how today's sale goes.

Today's sale went pretty well. We made twice as much as yesterday. We still have the monkey, gosh darn it! I told Sean that I'm going to take him to OSU's campus and drop him off on Frat row. They can fight over him from there. We had a storm blow in almost as soon as the yard sale was over, so there was a mad rush to get everything back inside the house. Our living room is a bit of a mess right now. I'll get it all put away tomorrow. I loaded all of the leftover clothes into the car so I can take those to the Red Cross or something early in the week. I would have posted this earlier, but I fell asleep almost immediately after we got everything inside the house. Yard sale-ing is exhausting!

You learn all sorts of things as an adult that you didn't know that you needed to know. As far as this yard sale goes, I learned the difference between a yard sale and a garage sale.

If you have a garage sale, at the end of the day you can push a button on the garage door and it closes. And you don't have to worry about people stealing your stuff. But a yard sale, you have to put all that stuff back in the house and drag it out again in the morning. I think I might knock down the fence and tree out front so next time we can have a garage sale.

Ditto with a porch sale. But those of us with garages off an alley...
I haven't had one since there was an accident at my last one years ago.
