The Sump Pump

Anybody here know how to repair or replace a sump pump? We're not flooded or in danger, but it's definitely not pumping water anymore. It tries to pump water, then stops right away. After it did that for awhile (apparently in the middle of the night) it blew the circuit breaker and now when we plug it in...it blows the circuit breaker.

Bring it on Uncle Carl/Bob/Steve/Michael C./Nick. Call me.

So....what are you going to do?

...move.

Here is my best advice.
1. Unplug it then plug it back in
2. If that doesn't work

Move

Nick and I have not needed to mess with our sump pump fortunately. But, just googling sump pump repair led me to these websites:

This format won't show the entire weblink, but if you access this post through the "edit" function you can see them all.

All right, so Uncle Carl called this afternoon while I was at work and I just spoke to him on his cellular device. Even after five separate opinions, it would appear that we are going to bite the bullet and buy a new sump pump. He sounded so positive on the phone.

I believe my dad mentioned something about the joys of home-ownership....Happy New Year.

Then a new sump pump is the way to go.....that was my vote last nite via the phone! That's cheaper than moving!

We let mom and dad know over the phone that we have installed a new sump pump. Thanks for all the help!
